Q: Can I use Ethanol E10 with my 2006 Subaru WRX?
Am I able to use Ethanol E10 with my 2006 Subaru WRX (MY06)? I have searched online and found similar sites saying this: Subaru Subaru Liberty B4 (all year models) and Impreza WRX STI (1999 and 2000) do not operate satisfactorily on E10.All others since MY1990 petrol engine Subaru vehicles will operate satisfactorily on E10.

A: Every single gas pump where I live has had 10% ethanol now for about three years or more and I haven't noticed anything different except a drop in mileage. 10% won't do any harm to your fuel system and the engine will run just fine.

Q: How many HP will I get if i add a turbo down pipe only to my 2006 Subaru WRX?

A: 10-15 (whp) depending on style (bellmouth/divorced wastegate/ flat flange). However it should be noted that with the open/closed fuel delay you will need some form of engine management to properly run an aftermarket downpipe. Engine management plus a downpipe is worth 40-50 (whp) a little more if you add a cat-back to form a complete turbo-back exhaust.

Q: Will a 2006 Subaru WRX STI beat a 2006 Mustang GT which car is better?

A: Some of you may be confusing the WRX STI with the standard WRX. A Mustang GT will beat a WRX off the line. A WRX STI and a Mustang GT have almost identical power to weight ratios, and it would be a toss-up which is quicker. Both run 0-60 in the mid five second range. The difference between the two shows up in bad weather or when the road starts to twist. THe WRX STI is a much better handling car in such situations due the AWD and better suspension setup. "Better" is subjective. Mustang fans will say Mustang, WRX fans the WRX. It just depends on what you want. The Mustang is all-american muscle car. It is designed to go fast in a straight line and do it loudly. The WRX is a swiss-army knife. Very good in all driving situations, but not built for one purpose like the Mustang. I would take a WRX over a Mustang, simply because of image. I like the rally history as opposed to the muscle shirt one, but to each his own.

Q: Are the lowering springs for the 2006 Subaru WRX Wagon the same as the previous years'?
Considering the 06 has the EJ25 will the weight have changed up front to warrant a new set of springs made specifically for this model year?

A: The answer to your question is yes and no. The 2006 WRX will have the same lowering srpings as the 2004 and 2005, but obviously not the same as the 02-03, when the WRX came with the EJ20T.

Q: Is a Lancer Evo IX better than the 2006 Subaru WRX STI? If anyone owns ither one of these crs, post ur opinion
I took a look on the statistics of each ride, and it seem as they are pretty even. Which one is better to buy?!!?

A: The Evolution 9 is better/faster/more controllable, due to the Active Yaw Stability system as fitted to the rear axle. Note. They do have a poor reputation for centre diff and transmission fragility, but only if badly abused.

Q: how many post it notes would it take to cover a 2006 subaru wrx sti?

A: Post-it-notes come in different sizes.

Q: 2006 Subaru wrx sti, or 2005 Yamaha R1?
My mom offered to buy me a 2006 Subaru wrx Sti and my dad wants to give me his Yamaha R1. If i take the bike i could still have a car but it will be like a 1989 mazda. im 17 right now and need to decide.

A: im 17 also, i would absolutely go with the wrx sti. I love motorcycles almost as much as i have somewhat of an obsession with subarus lol...i would say that depending on where you live subaru is better off that having both the yamaha and the mazda. Subarus are alot of fun and have all wheel drive which is a plus no matter where you live. whether its snow rain or anything, these cars can pull through anything. i have a 99 subaru impreza and the only thing i have not regretted a single thing about it. It has 180 000 miles and is still movin great. My whole family has subarus cuz my uncle has been workin for the for 25 yrs now. and my dad has a 98 subaru legacy gt with 300 000 miles and runs great. take my advice youll thank me later trust me

Q: 2006 subaru wrx or 2006 ford mustang gt?
i've had an 02 civic si, 05 stang v6 and now it's time to upgrade. i've got a 06 wrx being delivered to a local dealership. the other car i'm looking at is an 06 mustang gt. both are equal prices, 20k. the wrx has 11k miles the stang has 25k miles. i know both cars approach performance differently. one is a rally bred awd sedan the other is a signature v8 muscle car. i like the looks of each car almost equally, but a slight edge goes to the stang in that department. the stang is so stupidly easy to modify. i don't really want to go down the endless modifying path again, though nothing is set in stone. according to the research i've done the wrx isn't as easy to modify and cost more money to mod. which to me is a good and a bad thing. lol, i'm pretty sure i know what kind of answer i'm going to get here, but here's my question: 06 wrx, 06 stang gt, equal price, low miles on both, which do you choose and why?

A: The WRX isn't that hard to modify. All you need is a new downpipe and your choice of engine management to add ~50 whp. Buying new parts that would cost you ~$1k, but used parts can be found easily through Subaru forums, especially Nasioc. These parts would take a total of less than an hour to install, and that's being generous. Of course, things get a bit harder after that, but nothing too hard for the average shade tree mechanic. Add a new turbo, fuel injectors, fuel pump, and get a protune and you can expect to have around 280 to 300 whp, depending on the turbo and your tune, compared to the ~160 whp stock. Install time would be a few hours, and cost of new parts would be about $1100, depending mostly on the turbo you chose, plus a session with your tuner. Further appeal lies in the WRX, as already mentioned, but not seeing a carbon copy of yourself on the street every few miles, as in the case of the Mustang. The WRX is AWD, so it's better equipped to handle inclement conditions. The WRX is better set up stock for a drive through the twisties, where the Mustang is most comfortable going in a straight line. So, what is comes down to is your preferred driving style. If you see snow, autocross, or live down backroads, then the WRX. If you go to the drag strip and only care about cruising, then the Mustang. Good luck with your choice...

Q: 2006 Subaru WRX, slipping CLUTCH with only 35K miles...how much $$$?
Just bought a used 2006 WRX at 28k miles, now at 35k Miles, clutch is slipping...yeah. Most likely due to poor driving and launches from previous driver. Any clue how much this is going to cost me?

A: The car may still be under factory warranty call a Subaru dealer to check, Subaru website state anything is covered under 3 years or 36,000 miles. Better get it in ASAP.

Q: If i had a stock 2006 Subaru WRX STI what cars on the road would i beat and what cars wouldn't i beat?

A: U would beat the following - Nissan Sentra Spec V,Honda Civic Si, Toyota Corolla Le, Mitsubishi Lancer GTS, Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. Not Beat - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Pontiac GTO, Ford Shelby GT500, Toyota Supra Turbo, Nissan 350Z and 300ZX. Mazda RX-7. You will beat mostly the subcompact catagory cars in it. I must recommend the Mitsu Evo 10 0-60 4.5 seconds. Real Fast.

Q: How quick is a stock 2006 Subaru WRX from 0-60? Quarter-Mile?
Just bought one and there are too many variations of numbers around the internet.

A: 0 to 60 5.5 seconds 14 second quarter mile

Q: 2006 Subaru WRX blow-off valve?
I have a 2006 Subaru WRX. It's basically stock, besides a blow-off valve that has been on it for about a year. Sometimes, especially when the weather changes, the car will act up, and stall in either first or second gear when slowing to a stop... I was told that the blow-off valve isn't good for the turbo? Is this true? And could the stalling have anything to do with the blow-off valve? The stalling happens when I AM holding down the clutch! The RPMs go way low, and it'll stall, unless I let off the clutch! umm... Nice try ori s... I've been driving a stick-shift for over 10 years... I usually drive circles around punks like you. I'm not your typical dumb girl. I know about cars, and have owned quite a few vehicles with modifications done... that I did myself. Thanks for the response though... enjoy your 2 points.

A: this has been gone over a thousand times on Nasioc.com. There is absoulutley no reason a stock wrx or even an STI needs a aftermarket BOV. Stock the car uses a BPV (bypass valve) meaning when boost is released it vents back into the intake system so you don't run rich. If you throw a full vent to atmoshphere on the ECU still feeds the same amount of fuel in comparison to the air that SHOULD be fed back. Some people have gotten away with it, some don't, I've heard of rare cases people have pulled a CEL code as well. Look at replacing it with a stock BPV (which is good to 350hp anyways) or at the very least if you absoulutley positively have to have the "psssh" sound, invest in a 50/50, or throw a stock BPV back on and get a snorkus delete.

Q: how to install a greddy type rs blow off valve on a 2006 subaru WRX?
if you can send pics that would be awesome thanks

A: Nicholas is right, the stock bypass valve is all you need on the stock turbo. If you upgrade your turbo to something pushing around 20 psi or so, you'll probably need a BOV...but if you're just looking for the pisst sound, you can get a hybrid valve...that way you won't lose so much boost

Q: how many quarts of oil does my 2006 Subaru WRX take?
