Q: what size speakers for a 2005 subaru wrx?
im getting alpine type-r speakers for my car. should i replace all 4 of my speakers or just 2? and what size do i need 6-1/2? and would i need an amp or will i be allset with just the stock system?
A: Front Door: 6-1/2"
Rear Door: 4"
i would start with the front speakers since they are closer to you and you hear them more, then i would move to the rears.
if you are adding a sub i would suggest you amp the inside speakers because that will allow you to turn the volume up without the speakers sounding distorted (but at mid-level volume the speakers will sound fine without an amp).

Q: Which car sounds better the 2005 Subaru wrx sti or 2007 Nissan 350z Nismo?
i really think the sti is more hotter sound in car?
what are you thoughts?
oooo and what is more reliable the sti or nismo for a 19 yr old planning to keep for 3-4 yrs
A: I would recommend the 350 then. It's a V8
The larger the engine the more evenly balanced the the power is distributed.
Yes it has more parts, But the wear on the parts is more evenly distributed through out the engine.
And not focused on just a couple pistons to take the wear.
This is why most American full size work trucks have V8's or larger engines.
Offshore crew and work boats usually run 12 and 16 cylinder engines.
They are made to be strong and dependable, handling the day to day work environment
Q: what is the difference betwen the 2004 and 2005 subaru wrx sti?
the difference is?
A: Stereo was an option in 04 so you may find one without but that's pretty rare. The center console in the 04 was different with different HVAC controls and the hand break was in a different position. On the outside of the car in 05 it got 1/2 inch wider wheels with slightly upgraded wheel bearings. The wheels bolt pattern changed from 5X100 in 04 to 5X114.3 in 05. The inside of the headlights were colored a little darker in 05 and also there was a small flair on the rear fender over the wheel. I may be missing a thing or two but that is pretty much it. Power and drive train were the same so
Q: what viscosity oil is recommended for my 2005 Subaru wrx sti?
A: Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-30 thats all I use
Q: What causes a 2005 Subaru WRX Imprezzo to be difficult in manual shifting from 4th to 5th when speeding especi
This doesn't happen while shifting into other forward gears. Can a short shifter solve the problem? Will installing a short-shifter harm the transmission in any way? Thanks for technical expert advise
A: Im no expert, but my 03 wrx shifts fine in 4th to 5th. You said when 'speeding'. I'm not exactly sure what mph you'd consider as speeding either. I dont think a short shifter would help your problem. All it is, to me, is a shorter shift stick. Try shifting from 4th to 5th with your hand slightly lower on the stick, problem still re-occurs correct?
The shifter should not harm your transmission in any way unless it causes you to try to physcailly push your car to greater limits.
If you're having problems shifting from 4th to 5th, its most likely a mechanical problem that only you or a few have. I havent heard of the 05's as a whole having that particular problem.
Try posting on www.nasioc.com's forums, its the North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club. I'm on it and many well educated mecahnics and subaru enthusiasts. They can surely answer your question. Good luck! :D
Q: What are some websites that i can get mods/performane parts for my 2005 Subaru WRX sti?
A: Gruppe-S. That's where I got all my parts, they price match, and I have no complaints about them.
http://www.gruppe-s.com/subaru.htm
Vishnu Tuning. That's where I got my ECU reflash. Shiv is one of the top three for reflashing an EVO and STI.

Vividracing............don't know how they are other than that they're in Arizona.

Q: Question about the 2005 Subaru wrx sti -?
Question about the 2005 Subaru wrx sti -?
does the sti sound hot or is it just my opinion..
1 more thing- which car or brand is more reliable
the 05 sti or 05-07 mitsubishi evo
A: the sti would sound better with a blow off valve, it sounds so nice because of the turbo spooling up.. id rather get a Sti then a evo!
Q: Where is the diverter valve located on a 2005 Subaru WRX?
A: The thing down and to the left of the S on aps is the BOV, on a stock wrx the BPV will have a gold colored diaphragm http://www.aps-wrx.com/wrx/my01/new_tmic/tmic_installed.jpg
ahh here's a good stock wrx pic, the gold thing to the right of the throttle body mounted to the intercooler is the stock BPV(bypass valve) http://www.freebmw.net/share/CarsBoatsBikes/Subaru/Pictures/WRX_engine.jpg
Q: Decision on a 2005 Subaru WRX STI?
I'm currently deciding whether or not to purchase one of these cars. Could you guys list some pros/cons with this car. Thanks.
A: Awesome AWD system and huge disc brakes all around. Very fun to drive and you can get it pro tuned to hit peak numbers as low as 2900 rpm. Also on the 05's they upgraded the hubs. One con is that if you have a lead foot you can get down to15mpg in city but I always get 26 on the highway. The backs seats could be a little cramped if you have the front seats all the way back or tilted back but I'm 6'7" and don't have a problem driving
Q: A Question about my 2005 Subaru WRX?
yeah its the 2.0L non STI. ok well is there any way i can disable the antilock brakes without the side affects of something else being disabled? recently where im at the roads iced over and the braking sucked becuase im used to just pumping the pedals and down shifting to slow me down. instead the ABS kicked in and i just slid across the road till i got back on the gas and down shifted. Also, whats the best performance exhaust in your opinions for it?
A: The ABS is integrated into the breaking system and into the on board computer. Only the manufacturer would be able to build a replacement system with out the ABS.
As for and exhaust, to get real performance, you will need a system that starts at the exhaust manifold. The cat back ones really just make more noise.
Q: 2005 subaru wrx sti or a 1991 nissan skyline r32?
A: STI, speed and handling
Q: 2005 Jetta GLI or 2003 Mitsu EVO VIII or 2005 Subaru WRX?
Hello Everyone!
I'm looking into buying a used car. I now have an automatic 2003 accord LX that my dad bought for me for graduation. I am now 21 years old and still in college. I want to sell my accord and get a different car. I really want a Manual Trans. with a Turbo. After doing some research, with the money I've saved up and the price i should be able to sell my car for, I will have about 17500$. I'm debating on the 3 cars I really like, which should I get? Reliability is really a concern with the VW, but i dont think i can afford to keep the WRX or the EVO since the starting price are already high on these 2 cars...Any suggestions would help
Thank you
A: a jetta gli is slow no point in getting one.. if you want a manual turbo ya they are more expenisve but try to find a EVO or wrx, they will last you longer then the jetta and are 10 times faster and funner to drive then the jetta. you also look in to a neon srt4 its turbo+manual or the new dodge caliber sxt or cobalt ss it comes turbo now use to be supercharged. if you want a cheaper manual turbo car try looking for a nissan 300zx tt theyre are pretty quick stock
