Q: I have a 2003 Subaru WRX, how often should I change the oil?
I spend 95% of my driving on highways, going typically 70mph. The manual says every 7500 miles, but oil companies say 3000 miles.
A: Using very good oil then 7K is alright (unless you are driving hard on the highway)
Using cheap oil then 3K is alright.
Using REALLY cheap oil - don't start the car it already needs to be changed (lol)
FYI: oil breakdown and wear are closely related - pushing those numbers lowers the life. The harder you drive it, the more often you need to change it.
Q: What Has More Potential A 2003 Mustang GT Or 2003 Subaru WRX?
I was thinking about getting one of these 2 cars which are 2 of my favorite but need some help on deciding which has more potential. I personally like muscle cars abit more but have always loved WRXs. Lets say money is no issue which of these 2 would ultimatly be the fastest. I know WRXs are all wheel drive and that it would prob beat the GT in first gear but overall which will be victorous.
A: Money no object - the Mustang. Bigger cubes win every time. Between the stroker kits, supercharger & turbocharger kits, and driveline upgrades available it wouldn't even be close. How many 6 second WRX quarter mile passes have you seen? There's a reason import drag racers have separate events. It's like weightlifters: with equal training & diet, who can lift more - a 115 pound powerlifter, or a 300 pound one? Even if you could afford to make good power in the Subie it would probably break something about every other pass. How many side-by-side full passes do the import racers usually make? Lots of solos too. Sorry WRX fans, I like the car but I 'gotta call 'em like I see 'em!
Q: How Much would Car Insurance cost for a 2002 or 2003 Subaru WRX, not the Sti. Anyone know? Thanks! =]?
Well I live in NY, and im 17 and I've had my license for a couple of months now. And I'm thinking of a buy a WRX about June of next year. And was just wondering if anyone has a WRX and if its really expensive insurance or not. I mean yeah its a sports car and im a young driver so im expecting it to be high. But if its too high I might buy a different car instead
A: Alright, im going to give you a straight number here. Im 19 years old with a clean record, i drive an 04 wrx, i pay $370 a month for my car, its high but not as high as a two door sports car like a 350Z or a S2000....by the way the subaru wrx is not a sports car....its a 4 door family sedan lol
Q: Are there any problems with a 2002-2003 Subaru WRX?
i want to know because i have been hearing "oh the tranny on it sucks it will break" i jus want to knwo if there anre any problems with 2002-2003 wrx not sti. b/c in july im gonna buy a wrx 02-03
A: Most all wheel drive vehicles have a weak spot in the transmission and center differential. The 02-03 WRX has a weak second gear, but this is only shown when you exceed 270whp. The clutch will be another weak point, you will notice with upgrades, you will have slippage.
Q: What car should i get a 2007 Pontiac g5 or a 2003 Subaru Impreza wrx?
I am a 19 year old and I am a bit picky on cars because car insurance is high for me. I just want someone that has some experenice with those cars. Suggestion for other cars are fine too, only sport cars or coupes.
A: I'm really surprised to see this question. The wrx is a terrific car. I used to own one for four years and single thing didn't go wrong with it. The insurance was fairly inexpensive on the vehicle as well. The 2002 and 2003 models are considered compact sedans by insurance. The 2004+ models are considered sport sedans, so they have slightly higher insurance.
If you're comparing their performance, I can't think of one thing that the Pontiac does better. It MIGHT get better gas mileage.
Q: How many quarts of oil does a 2003 Subaru WRX take?
A: 4.8 quarts without filter, so probably a little over 5 quarts
are you using synthetic? check out Amsoil: http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=1463115&page=products

I.E. the technical specs, weak spots and running (+ servicing costs hard to find truth )for the w.r.x. ... s.t.i. ... p.p.p .... hard to find...please help me!!!!
A: have just upgraded to a 53 plate imprexa sti ppp its fantastic ..
there are not many available on show rooms but private you can pick them up £15000 upwards , bought mine from Subaru dealer as have the reassurance of the engine , mileage etc plus you get a year warranty and assistance , cost £19000 but well worth it ,
sti only are nice usually have lower spoiler and smaller fuel pump and smaller inter coolers etc and around 260 brake horse and 305 bhp for the ppp being fitted , better to buy one that had ppp from factory new , not put in after as a dealer cant guarantee the 305 bhp !
i would advise a Subaru sti ppp as i love my new babe and my last car was the 2000 turbo with ppp had it modified with filters , exhaust etc to push out 245 bhp and the difference between that and the new were amazing .
put pro drive banbury into your search engine to look up what the pro drive pack in tails also try Subaru . co. UK for good dealers and advice .
from one Subaru fanatic to another good luck and hope you find a babe ..x
p.s. this car doing about 20 to 25 per gallon !
and needs to be serviced by subaru garage as all computerised and each service works out as about £300 pound as some are more like 3rd year service etc ..dont think there are any bad points to a subaru of this spec ...
Q: Will a Subaru OEM Short Block EJ2507 WRX STi engine fit a 2003 Subaru WRX?
The website I'm looking at for the engine is http://www.cimotorsports.net/motor-sport-products/subaru-oem-shortblock-ej25-sti.html
The path I followed to find the engine is:
Home » Subaru » WRX/STi 2002-2007 » Engine » Short Blocks » Subaru » Subaru OEM Short Block EJ2507 WRX STi
I wouldn't be doing the swap on my own...I have a brother for that. :)
A: Yes, the block will happily bolt up to whatever heads are on your WRX currently(although if you're going to get this block, get STi heads). The transmission will also bolt right onto this baby as well. But a couple things...
1. $2000 for a short block? Thats a bit extreme, check out Gruppe-S, they have entire engines, STi ones as well for about $3000.
2. You will need to get a tune to make the engine run right.
3. You will need to get a bigger turbo and upgrade the exhaust system, the stock turbo will not be able to feed this engine properly.
4. Your drivetrain on your car will not last long with the power that you will be putting out with an STi engine in your car. Fixing this would involve either straight cut gears(extremely annoying for a daily driver) or an entire STi Drivetrain, which will run you about $6000.
From the sound of things, you probably wouldnt be doing all of this yourself either. Which, well... is going to cost you a ton. If you were going to do it yourself, I'd say go for it and good luck, but in this situation i have to say...
Go buy an STi
Q: Looking for a Hood and Fenders for a 2003 Subaru WRX.?
if you are willing to sell me these parts..
please leave me ur phone number or email i can reach u by.
Thank you.
(i am located in Sacramento)
A: You would have better luck going to your local auto scrap yard. Some junk yards/repair shops specialize in Subarus, look in the phone book.
Q: i am having problems with my 2003 subaru wrx breaks when i break hard it skids no matter the condition of road
not pads or disc
A: Have the brake fluid checked as well as the ABS system.
Q: 2003 Subaru WRX or Subaru Forester?
Im soon turning 16, and I love both cars. Its seems weird i would being camparing the two. But we are looking for an awd vehicle and im also getting a new car. which would be best (family of 5 - skiing in the mts)
A: The Forester is very much the better option. It has a better ground clearance, as well as stability (the extra weight is a bonus at times!) Not to mention it has a larger rear, and a much larger boot. They are both great, its just the WRX doesn't really function as a family car or transport quite as well as the Forester. LOL The XT Forester still packs a massive punch though.
Q: Where is the OBDII port located on a 2002/2003 Subaru Impreza WRX?
A: Right under the steering wheel there should be a plug about 2" wide with lots of holes in it. If you are having trouble finding it, sometimes they get pushed up into the dash area so you might have to reach under and feel around for it.
