2002 for both (WRX AND STI)
A: what year sti? but the major diferences are the engine sizes wrx-2.0 sti-2.5 also suspension, wheels, wrx-5 spd or automatic sti 6spd only, spoilers, front bumpers, along with other small things.

I just got my first car and its an automatic subaru wrx 2002 and im wondering what i should do to it aftermarket its silver and stalk
A: Great car.
Exhaust, get the most from that engine.
Dont chip it, chipping is overrated and can totally stuff it up.
Lightweight it, remove all unnessicary weight.
Increase the turbo boost.
Increase the engine cooling, and tweek the timing and other engine stuff
Make the transmission faster, lighter flywheel, driveshaft, etc.
Tyres are a good thing too, get yourself a great set.
And finally
AN AWESOME STEREO!!!!
Q: hunting for acabon fiber for my 2002 subaru wrx? any idea where I might find one front bumper?
I am hunting for a carbon fiber front bumper for my subaru 2002 wrx?
A: try carboncreations.com
Q: what is the single modification i can make on my 2002 subaru WRX in order to get maximum hp to money ratio?
Please be serious when you answer this question. my brother is planing to modify his car.
A: Aftermarket uppipe. Significant power and spool improvement for around $200.
A reflashed ECU is not a bad idea, but it definitely comes after the uppipe, not before.
Avoid a cold air intake at all costs. This will just lean out the engine causing detonation and has shown rather bad results, even loss of power, on WRXs that have not been highly modified.
Q: How do people dump air from the waste gate on 2002 Subaru WRX?
A: its called a blow off valve and simply put you dont have one cuz u dont need one but u like the sound rite well if u do put one on it will more than likely turn the engine lite on and it will wast alot of gas as well
Q: Straight Line Drag Race 2002 Subaru wrx or 2005 Legacy gt?
what would win, 2002 Subaru wrx or 2005 Legacy gt
A: depends on which driver is willing to abuse the clutch more. assume both people are driving like dealership employees in customer cars (in my experience techs think 5000rpm clutch dumps are an integral part of road testing a vehicle) then i think the legacy is likely to win because it has a bit more power
Q: How do I replace the clutch on my 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX?
Specifically, I have the most of it out, but the fork is in the way. Should I take the intercooler off, or just pull at it with all my might? Or better ideas work, too.
A: Go invest in a Haynes Manual or some other source of info...and never ever pull on anything with all your might
when you are repairing an automobile...
Q: is a subaru wrx 2002 good enough for a teen who is start driving???? do you think its going to bre high insura
A: Insurance will be high $. This car is sporty and turbo-charged. It should be fun to drive.
Q: Where do I find a service manual for a 2002 subaru impreza wrx?
I've searched online and the closest I've come is a downloadable service manual and some manuals on ebay with poor descriptions. I'd like a manual that I can order as a book and not a CD.
A: I have a service manual set for that car, I got it from the Subaru dealer parts department, it was about $250 in 2002 when I got the car, I think that I am missing the auto transmission book, but I have the rest of them.
other places will not have it as no others have made one for that car yet.
if you want me to look something up for you, just message me.
I think that subaruparts.com has the set for the lowest price at about $122 (I think, the website is so confusing) but they have bad costumer service and are just as likely to send any random part, but it is possible to get accurate things from them if you have time.
Q: 2002 Subaru Wrx with 98,900 miles. Good buy?
I really want to upgrade to a WRX. I live in california and found a dealership with 2002 WRX with almost 100k miles on it for $11,500. Have yet to call and ask questions, but what are some major things I should be lookings for/ asking in particular? What are some specific things that might need repairing or replacement at this mileage? Looks like the previous owner had a few small mods but no telling what they are as they are not listed (turbo timer, rims, exhaust, etc.). Price seems a bit steep, whats the lowest you think I can get them down to?
Any advice is appreciated.
A: I would not buy a used WRX unless it had less than 30K miles on it. They are one of the toughest sports cars out there, so they are also known to be one of the most beat on cars. I just would not trust a used WRX with high mileage, the chances that previous owners beat the crap out of it are very high.
The AWD system puts a lot of strain on the transmission, so that would probably be 1 area I would inspect with great detail.
Other than that, I would think a 8 year old car with 100K miles on it should cost much less than nearly 12K dollars!! is it at least teh STi? I would highly encourage you to keep looking, I believe you could find something in that price range with much lower miles
Good LUck!
Q: SUBARU WRX WAGON 2002, where can I buy affordable quality parts? and what should I start with? ?
Are there any good websites as well pertaining to the wrx wagon?
Im looking to build a sleeper.
A: You could get an entire package from one of the companies below, or build in stages. It depends on how fast you want to go and how much you want to spend. I would recommend an uppipe first.
Q: 2002 Subaru wrx, 90k miles, transmission is bad, what u think i should try to sell it for?
I hate to try to sell it that way, but i have already got too much money in it and want out while i can, but not sure what to ask for it
A: Listen man,
When i was in the market for my STi, i looked for the most unmodified, un messed with STi. If you are selling a car off with a bad transmission, ONE thought it is going to come up in the potential buyers mind. " Oh man, this guy's transmission is bad, so are his motor mounts, so is his motor, so it his whole drivetrain, so is his differential, etc..." I would honestly suck it up, and buy a new tranny for it, make sure everything is in pristine condition when you are going to sell it. Especially with 90k on the odometer, thats a lot of miles.
Just a fair warning, you will not get more then 7,000 for it with y ou rebuild the transmission. Your best bet, in any case, to be honest, is to go to the WRX or STi forums, like nasioc.com and iwsti.com and post it up, for local pick up.
Good luck my friend.
Q: will a rear bumper and tail light from a 2004 subaru wrx fit on a 2002 subaru wrx?
A: Yes it will. You just have to figure out the plugs to the correct place.
Q: Where is Cylinder 4 located in 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX?
I need to change the ignition coil on cylinder 4 to fix a misfire but I'm not sure where it is. Is it on the right or the left side of the engine?
A: this will help ya and auto zone could also
Q: IS it worth it to buy a 2002 Subaru Wrx wagon with 74k miles?
Uhh, i'm a newb when it comes to cars and i'm wondering if it's worth spending the money to buy a used wrx, i hear i have to get the turbo and clutch changed at 100k miles and i'm just wondering if it's a good deal and the defaults to the car because i'm not going to beat on it, i just really want to charrish a car this nice, here are the specs:
