Q: Does anyone know how to remove the bumper off of a 2006 Subaru Outback?
I have popped out all the pins, but i can't seam to pull the bumper off still, what am i missing?
A: Go to the website listed below, select parts catalog, collision parts, find the front bumper, select a component, and then click on view illustration. It will show you a view of the bumper and all the parts. Maybe you can figure out what else is holding it on.

Q: 2006 Subaru Outback Question for mechanics?
My dads 2006 Subaru Outback 2.5i has 98,000 miles. He drives a lot.
He is very happy with the car, and it is his 4th Subaru Outback
At around 87,000 miles, i noticed that there was oil leaking out of the timing belt cover. It wasnt very much. It would collect at the bottom of the cover, and then drip on the exhaust manifold. It would never drip rapidly, just slowly, about 2 or 3 drops per 100 miles driven or so. But this is something that is concerning me. At around 93,000 he had his original brakes changed, and i told him to get the timing belt changed as well, because he is lazy and would go well over the 105k mark before it was changed. When Subaru changed the belt, they said the hydraulic tensioner for the timing belt was loose, and changed it as well. After this when i changed the oil, i looked up and saw it wasn;t leaking any more. However about 2,000 miles after the new tensioner, it started slowly leaking again, and i think that it is a leak at the oil pump, as a engine gasket is unlikely at only 87,000 miles. The car now has 98,000 miles, has had the oil changed EVERY 3,000 miles religiously with mobile 1, (by me) and has had ZERO problems or concerns until now. We are very satisfied with the car and will continue to buy Subaru, but what is this problem.
A: It would have to be a cam or front main (crank seal), since the tensioner does not hold enough fluid to create a noticeable leak. Whoever put the belt on probably cleaned up in there, stopping the drip temporarily. BTW, the front main seal is on the oil pump (the oil pump slides over the crankshaft). I would pull the outer timing covers off and check the cam seals, you should be able to do that w/o pulling any belts off. If the cam seals are good...then you know for sure the crank seal is shot.
Q: Changing stock radio in Subaru Outback 2006 with dual climate control.?
Can it be done? The mounting hardware seems only for the version without the dual climate controls.
A: Almost every radio can be replaced but it takes a lot of knowledge and experince... especially with newer vehicles where computers and wiring harnesses are so intertwined. Go to a good shop car audio and let them do it. If they mess up something they get to fix it.
Q: Where is the fuel filter located on a 2006 Subaru Outback 2.5i?
A: its in the fuel tank, so its a lifetime filter that doesn't have to be changed.
I also drive a 2006 Outback 2.5i. i drive the car over 100 miles a day in my commute. It has 80,000 miles on it right now, and it has been completely trouble free. Not even something minor or stupid, like a tail light or something. Not a single thing has gone wrong with it, and in the winter, it often sees 2.5 feet of snow, and easily drives through it. mine also gets 34 mpg on the highway doing 55 mph. i like the fuel economy display that shows you the mileage your getting while you drive. I think its a pretty cool display.
Q: is the 2006 subaru outback wagons 4 speed automatic transmission good?
does it tend to rev high, or higher than that of a 5 speed atomatic?, will it work just as well as a five speed automatic???
thanks
A: I like it. The 4-sp auto is very sensitive to throttle inputs and you are able to pretty much shift with your right foot by either easing up or depressing the gas. If you put it into sport mode, it is even better in this regard. Sport mode will hold a gear longer and downshift sooner. Then there is the +/- selector in the sport position, which gives you almost total control. It won't let you hit a rev limiter without shifting and it won't let you bog down to zero rpm, but it's pretty reasonable. If you are in the "manual" mode and come to a stop sign, it will put you in 1st gear and wait for you to shift to 2nd, etc.
I don't find the highway speed rpm's to bad, either. If I remember, I'll check tomorrow and post a few rpm's for 50, 60, 70, etc.
Q: I just bought a 2006 Subaru Outback 2.5H Limited do I have to use a 91 Grade gasoline? hw do I knw if it turbo
A: Congrats on your car purchase. Anyway you don't have to run 91 grade gas because you have a non-turbo 2.5 liter engine. While these are important questions, you really should read your owner's manual if you have one. If not, purchase one from the dealer or online. This information is in there for your knowledge.

Q: 2006 Subaru Outback.... steamed up windows?
We live in cold climate. Almost everytime we get into the car (especially at night) the windows have steamed up and when it is COLD, we have to actually scrape the inside of the windows? Any ideas? Hints?
A: I had the same problem and found the easiest way to handle it was to put the windows done for a bit and let the hot moist air out before parking it!
Q: 2006 Subaru Outback - AC performance problem - Hot Air Comes in periodically when running AC in Max-Cold Recl?
Air Conditioner is Not Cooling Properly - Specifics:
Driving Conditions: ALL (local 35-45 mph avg. and Hwy 65-70 mph normal speeds – Note: Issue does NOT just occur under severe engine load conditions it occurs under all conditions)
Settings: A/C: – ON
Recirc: - ON
Fan Speed: All (1-4) Symptoms are more obvious at 2, 3 & 4
Vent Settings: Dash & Dash/Floor
Symptoms: A/C blows very cold air for 10-20 seconds alternating with Very Warm to Hot air for 5-10 seconds - Warm Air temp is much hotter than ambient in-car air indicating that Outside Air is being blown thru the system. There does not appear to be a change in the engine RPM’s or Audible evidence that the compressor clutch is disengaging. Also when in the Dash/Floor setting there is low flow to the passenger floorboard. Cause???– air-flow obstruction or errant signal that is causing a damper/actuator to periodically open a valve - Dealer replaced clogged cabin air-filter - problem still occuring! Similar prob?
A: Check the middling device.(may be refered to as actuator for most manual a/c vehicles)There is some restriction occurring intermittently and that would cause the switching from cold to hot to cold to hot .Sounds like it needs replacing or a good starting place.I assumed from your settings description this is a manual a/c and not climate control.Good luck
