Q: What do you think of the 2005 to 2008 Subaru Legacy GT?
Hey im most likely purchasing a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT 5 speed and black leather. undecided on the color most likely depends on what i can find. I think black and blue are my top choices. white being last choice. What do you all think of the car?
A: cant go wrong with awd+turbo = AWESOME
Q: Is 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited any good?
I am looking to buy a 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5I Limited. I have never owned a Subaru before and I am uncertain about the quality of Subaru cars. Please give me some insights on Subaru cars. How are they compared to Hondas and Toyotas? Any Maintenance issues?
Thanks!
A: They are more reliable than Honda and Toyota. (If you dont believe me look it up)
'05 is the worst year for the redisigned legacy, but reliability is still excellent
Obviously you will hear of a few people with troublesome cars, just like any other car manufacturer.
My 2006 Subaru Legacy 2.5i gets over 85 miles a day put on it in my commute, it has 85,000 miles on it that have been 100% trouble FREE. Not even warenty work needed to be done.
It also gets 32 highway mpg, and drives thru 3 feet of snow easily. Also the 08's are PZEV. they are the cleanest gasoline non-hybrid vehicles out there
They are also very safe
Q: So I just bought a 2008 Subaru Legacy in May and got hired in New York City today
I just bought a brand new Subaru Legacy Special Edition and just landed a great job in New York City. As most people know you don't need a car in NYC so now I have a issue of sorts. I love my car it was my dream car I ordered it from the Subaru Factory exactly like I wanted it, but I don't have parking at the place I am going to be living and having a car in NYC is out of the question my work is minutes away from my apt and so is everything else. So what is the best course of action for me ? How hard would it be to have someone take it over or transfer to another buyer? Or am I just stuck and will have to pay for a car that i can't take with me to NYC ?
A: you have two choices store the car until you are sure this job is going to work out than continue to store or sell or sell it now
Q: 2008 subaru legacy?
on the 2008 subaru legacy 2.5i limited (got to get the non turbo for insurance and gas) does it come stock with fog lights?
A: Yes. Limited, GT, & GT spec b all have fog lights.
Q: Anyone own a 2008 Subaru Legacy?
I wanna know if they are powerful or smooth. I'm planning on either getting a 08 Impreza 5 door or a Legacy 2.5i non turbo. Don't know yet. Which would u recommend? (Oh yeah, and manual transmission!)
A: I've found that most Subarus have a similar overall feel. In terms of power, they both would provide similar performance. The Impreza might have a slight edge in acceleration and fuel economy, since it's lighter. The Impreza's rising sales are likely because of its fuel efficiency relative to the rest of the Subaru range. However, the Legacy is larger and more refined and would likely feel more "smooth". They're both fast enough, especially with the manual transmission, but neither delivers tire-burning acceleration (look to the turbo models for that).
Both are very good cars and it really comes down to personal preference and needs. Both are extremely solid and safe, with above-average reliability. The Legacy has prettier exterior and a beautiful interior. The Impreza's interior, while notably better than the previous model, isn't as upscale. The Impreza 5-door would be more practical for cargo-hauling than a Legacy sedan. The Impreza is also a more recent design, incorporating some changes since the Legacy was introduced in 2005 (such as framed windows).
I would take the Impreza if I were looking for a practical compact car (with great bang for the buck) and would take the Legacy if I were looking for a refined family car. Unless I were hauling lots of cargo, I would take either over the Outback for their better handling and fuel economy. However, my personal preference (available in Canada) would be the regular Legacy wagon 2.5i.
Q: All 2008 Subaru Legacy Owners Who Use Ipod For Music...?
Does anyone else who owns a 2008 Subaru Legacy use an Ipod to provide their music? I ask because I am wondering if there is a problem with my connection to my Ipod or is the Ipod setup with the Legacy just not that good? The volume level with my Ipod connected is very weak; no matter what. Even with the volume level on the Ipod turned all the way up; it is still weak. When I put in a CD, I can turn the volume all the way up with no problems and everything sounds great. I figured I would ask here first; then try Subaru. Anyone have any suggestions?
A: take it back to your dealer - they will change it if its still in warranty
if not then try changing the auxiliary cable(ipod cable)
other than that only a car audio dealer can sort out the problem after thorough checking..
good luck
Q: how do u change the color of the dash lights on a 2008 subaru legacy?
A: i dont think u can change the color of the dash lights, just how bright they are using the dial under the air vent, and mirror adjuster.
Q: 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Limited??????
What do you think????? seeing as how Subaru FUGGLIFIED the Wrx, I'm starting to steer more towards the Legacy now.... I like that fact that it's almost like a SLEEPER cuz it looks like a family sedan (which I could possibly add some personal touchers.... debadge here, tint there, new grille possibly).... but yet it has the engine and speed of a WRX which I could tweak if I wanted to.....
Is it worth it?
Cuz I had looked at an Audi A4T quattro, and the upkeep and maintenance on those is a biatche....
So, do you think that the new Limited Legacy's are worth it??????
(btw, I live in chicago, and if you've heard any of the recent weather news, THAT is why i want a Subaru so bad... not to mention I've wanted one FOREVER until they made the new imprezas UGLY)
the new imprezas are UGLY!!!!! they look like camrys. no sense of rally racing in them anymore. and i WOULD buy an Evo if they hadnt jacked the price up 10k! ugh, subaru disapointed MANY people with the redesign. i liked the huge hood scoop, the boxier rally look and the spoiler. i HATE the hatchback look and the sedan looks like a friggin family camry. blech!!!!
A: Legacys are nice but will be no where the same performance as an STI. If you think the new ones are ugly get an older one. There are still plently of new 06 - 07s and I am sure you can find a good 04 - 05. If not you can always go Mitsubishi Evo.
Q: 2008 Subaru Tribeca Limited or 2008 Subaru Legacy GT Limited?
I am so frustrated! WHICH ONE SHOULD I BUY!?
A: Comparing apples to oranges. The Tribecca is much bigger so it comes down to your needs. A smoother spacious ride or something a little smaller but with a sportier feel.
Q: Why is there engine noise in a Subaru Legacy 2008?
I bought a Subaru Legacy 2008 2.5i several months ago and have questions about engine noise. First, when I do I a cold start of the engine, it is very loud at first. The noise goes down significantly as the car warms up. After fully warm, the car is very quiet. Other cars I've owned in the past (Honda Accord, Civic) were not that loud at a cold start. Just wondering whether is normal or not, or whether I should have this looked at.
Also, after driving when I turn the car off, the engine continues to make a clicking sound for a while. This is also something I didn't experience with my past cars. I was told that is the sound of the exhaust system cooling down. Is this true?
Just wondering what other people's experiences were with both types of engine noise.
A: Boxer engines are known for clatter when cold. If it gets louder or doesn't go away when warm have it checked out, may be warranty. Most exhausts will click cooling down, it's the heat shields contracting, perfectly normal.
Q: 2008 subaru legacy 2.5i limited?
how many speakers does this have, there website is saying 6 but crutchfield.com is saying only 4
A: 6 is correct. The limited comes with door tweeters.
Q: 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5i?
Is it good in acceleration? (If I get Manual trans). Smooth?
I cant afford a GT
A: Acceleration with a 2.5i manual is perfectly adequate, and unless you're a speed demon, you won't need anything more. The engine is quite smooth and provides a linear power delivery. The 0-60 time for the automatic has been quoted at 10.2 seconds, but the manual will likely cut a second off that. It's very much comparable to other 4-cylinder family cars.
Of course, there are other things to like about the Legacy 2.5i, like its reliability and driving dynamics.
Q: 2006 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited or 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Premium
Automatic Legacy is $18,000
Manual Impreza is $19,000
I live in the snow... My father owns a 2002 Legacy and I have yet to drive a car that corners as well (So I lean towards the Legacy).
I don't want a turbo charged engine. Been there, done that.
Which one is a better deal and which one would you buy?
A: They may have the same engine and drive train, but they drive a lot different! The legacy would be my choice, the 5 speed tranny with sportshift is freaking smooth as silk. Plus since the Legacy is used, I would offer 15500 for it. Considering they got the 08 special editions for 16995 out here, I would bet they would take 15k for the '06. If not, tell them you will take the 08 SE Legacy. Might not have heated seats or leather, but still a great car(its what I bought!).
Q: Subaru legacy?
the subaru legacy i want is around $26,000, if i say "take $6K off the price and install all the options for free, and i wll take it home today" will that work??
we do know a finance director (1 of my dads friends, rented our town house for years) at 1 subaru dealership, and a GM at another subaru dealership)
its a 2008 subaru legacy 2.5i limited
spoiler
wheel locks
remote start
splash guards
subwoofer
A: I would check with your friends first to see if its even possible before you try, or else the sales people will laugh at you and you will look and feel stupid (especially when you go back to the place to actually buy the car for real)
I recommend you skip the silly add ons you mentioned and spend a little bit more for the 2.5GT model. trust me you would rather have the turbocharged motor, than the subwoofer and spoiler on the super slow base model car
Q: 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i, Legacy or Scion tC?
I'm going to buy a car in a month and need to know which is better. Which has more guts, comfort? Good take off? Better on insurance?
A: The Legacy is the safest car on the road these day so insurance will be better on that. Also the resale on it will hold much longer.
