Q: I am looking for a stock spoiler for my 2005 Subaru Impreza RS... any suggestions?
I have a 2005 Subaru Impreza RS, and I am looking for a stock spoiler, not the high WRX, and STi version, just the lower profile one, with the built in light. Any websites or any info will help! Thanks!

A: your best bet will be to go on an internet forum, such as www.nasioc.com or www.i-club.com and post in your local classified section. There are a number of people on those forums who like look the 'wingless' trunk, and you can arrange with them to trade your 'wingless' trunk for their trunk that already has the stock wing of your choosing. This will be a lot cheaper than purchasing the stock spoiler and related electronics from a dealer, and a lot more safe than ordering from ebay, because you see exactly what you are getting in person. The trunk swap is pretty easy, and can be done quickly with some basic tools

Q: How do I remove the chrome lettering from the trunk of a 2005 Subaru Impreza?
Are they glued flat on, or do they have a post with a screw? I am not worried about the paint around them, just keeping the letters whole.

A: Heat it up good with a hair dryer and use fishing line to get the emblems off. Soak the leftover with Goo Gone or some kind of adhesive remover. When you get as much of it off as you can then use some clay bar and give it a good wax coat and you're good to go. Done both my Subaru's and friends' as well this way.

Q: Can you make a 2005 Subaru Impreza into a BMW M3?
I want to start a kit car, and I have a subaru imprezam and I would love to make it a M3, if not what could I make it? (Luxery, or Exotic Car)

A: Don't try, it'll look stupid. There are a lot of decent kits out there that will make a Subaru look great, just don't try to make it look like a complete different make of car. My brother tried to alter his Honda into a Ferrari (that was when he was in his dork tuner guy stage), and the car became a joke. Upgrade your car, but make the most of the Subaru name and reputation.

Q: What are the 0-60mph or 0-100mph times for a 2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS automatic sedan?
More importantly, I am looking for the distance (in feet or miles) it would take to reach speeds from 0-100mph (or atleast 60mph) A dyno chart or graph would be ideal. It's for a legal case. Trying to prove the car can not reach 70mph in the distance given. Or atleast that it would be difficult to do so under the conditions.

A: rock star, read the question again. he's asking for a legal case not the importance of 0-60 in real world driving. i would check the car and driver or motor trend web sites for that model. they typically have a break down of 0-60, 0-100 and dyno information. hope this helps.

Q: Is there any way to put speakers behind the seats of a 2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS?
I just bought this car and went to Circuit City and the book they look for what size speakers are needed only list speakers for front and rear doors but nothing for the area behind the seats. From the trunk it seems like there are holes for 5X7's but one side is covered with a bracket and there are no holes for screws. I'm just wondering if there was anyone who has ran into this problem and how they've tackled it.

A: the best people to ask about that would be the guys at Crutchfield, they've been around for 32 years. Go to crutchfield.com for great selection of speakers and kits that modify and enhance your car's audio. You can also just ask them to send you a free catalog. good luck

Q: What is the of the stock horsepower and torque of the 2001-2005 subaru impreza 2.5RS coupe (2D) GC8, as well a
What is the of the stock horsepower and torque of the 2001-2005 subaru impreza 2.5RS coupe (2D) GC8, as well as weight dimension, gas mileage, etc?

A: The GC8 was made from 1998-2001. It came with a 2.5 liter flat four making 165hp at 5600rpm and 166 lb-ft at 4000rpm. It was rated for 22/28 in gas mileage and has a curb weight of 2825 lbs. The 2002-03 2.5RS (GD-B/-C, commonly referred to as "bugeyes") made the same power, but had a slightly higher curb weight of 2965(manual) or 3020(auto). As for gas mileage, the manual was rated for 20/27 and the auto for 19/26. The 2004-05 (GD-D/-E, commonly referred to as "blobeyes") models once again made the same power numbers and had the same curb weight. Gas mileage ratings increased to 21/28 for the manual and 22/28 for the automatic.

Q: Will any subaru sti hood scoop and spoiler fit a 2005 subaru impreza 2.5RS?
My car allready has the factory spoiler on it like the WRX has. I was wondering if they have the basic hood scoops i could get painted and also the spoiler.

A: You would need the entire hood from a WRX, it is made differently to accept the scoop. It would be quite a bit of fab work to get a factory hood scoop to fit a non-turbo hood. There are aftermarket hoodscoops that would attach with a couple screws or 2-sided tape. I personally don't like them, but it sounds like the amount of effort and money you want to put into this. They could be painted to match.

Q: im getting a 2005 subaru impreza wrx nd dont know what kind of exhaust to get i want a big pipe nd i want the ?
and i want the whole pipe and i want it loud does any one have any suggestions because im buyen in tomarow nd i want to buy the pipe now

A: do you mean a cat back or header, up pipe, down pipe, and cat back? i have a invidia down pipe and a tanube cat back and i hate it! its too loud for me! gotta keep the subs bumping so i dont hear it. i bought the car with these already on the car so i dont know where to get it but if you want loud look for this exhaust.

Q: 2005 Subaru Impreza Maintenance Guide?
I am trying to find an manual for an 05 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. I know a good name is Chiltons, but I can't find one. Is there any guide that is published for retail? Help me please!

A: You can find the Subaru Service Manual for sale online for ~$75. Pricey, but it's what the technicians at your dealer use... Try Ebay to locate one, and with any luck it'll be cheaper.

Q: Fuel Filter 2005 Subaru Impreza Outback?
I want to change my fuel filter, but I am not sure where it is located and if any special techniques need to be used. I am also going to change out my cabin filter. Where is it located? Thanks guys! I talked to the Subi dealer today and they said there is no external fuel filter for 2005 Impreza Outbacks. However, on forums and my question, people say there is one. Can anyone verify it for me?

A: Cabin filter is located behind the glove box. You may find your car never had one in it but it's pretty simple to replace. Also you can buy the filter from the dealer for about $20 or you can just buy a filter for home A/C's or heaters and cut about 6 of them for about 25 cents. Works just as good for me. I also lay a half a dryer sheet on the filter to keep the car smelling great for months. Fuel filter is where the guy above says it is. Disconnect the negative battery cable before trying to change the fuel filter and it should keep gas from shooting out. I guess they Changed the N/A engines around that time too then. On my 06 WRX the fuel filter is in the gas tank connected to the fuel pump. It's quit a job requiring you ti empty your tank and pulling the fuel pump assembly out so unless you are sure about your abilities, I would have it done. Changing out my fuel pump took all day with a couple friends helping.

Q: Modding 2005 Subaru Impreza?
im getting a 2005 impreza soon (not sti n not wrx) n just wanted 2 know what are my limits on modding it. i've tried searching the net but all i could find where stuff abt STIs... if anyone knows of any sites selling performance parts for the car could u please post, as i will be importing them (my country doesnt really have any garages or tuning shops, it sux i know!) u might ask y not just get an sti? well high taxes crush that dream... a used 2005 STI sells for $30,000 +... 2 much 2 spend on a used car.. most of em are in crap condition anw since offroading is really popular here... i was just thinking of adding a couple of performance mods (or do u think an engine swap would be better?) n probably do a body conversion to an STI...

A: Stay far away from turbos and try induction kits, exhaust systems and brakes or suspension. Remember that for a car to go fast it must also go round corners fast.....Putting body mods on your scooby just makes you look stupid (no offence to anyone who has) and NOT faster (sometimes it makes you slower) Heres a website over here in England, it will give you inspiration for some bits. If you tune imprezas a tiny little bit they can make drastic differences, so tune them to perfection! My last top tip: Blueprinting - if you dont know what it is try researching it, and engine management is also a cheap way of getting more out of your impreza.

Q: Port Polish 2005 subaru impreza sti?
Is it worth it for me to get a Stage 5 Port Polish for my Subaru sti? If so how much more horsepower can this boost me up by. My Subaru runs a solid 346hp right now.

A: Search around on IWSTI.com

Q: Can a 2005 Subaru Impreza Gx be modified ?? ?
Are the wrx/sti parts compatible with the gx ? any help will be appreciated.

A: I'll give it a shot. Looks like the GX is the base model impreza in AU so If it's the same as the base Impreza here in the US, only suspension parts are compatible. The cat back is close but you will have to move a couple hangers and rotate the flange where it meets the cat pipe. Obviously interior and body parts are interchangable too but nothing power wise unless you go al out and do a motor swap.

Q: whats better a 1997Toyota Supra or a 2005 SUBARU Impreza WRX STi?

A: Wow... Both cars are amazing. The real question is, what is the purpose of the cars and how much money are you willing to put on it? No doubt Supra are one the strongest import vehicle that can easily take 800+ HP (with extensive modding and tuning). however it is mostly used as a drag machine if to tune it. Its RWD so not be as efficient as the WRX's AWD. However if you have the money and plan to supe it for the maxium speed... i say go ahead with the supra. Also another plus side is that supra are very HOT import car with high demands and limited supplies. So I am assuming the resale value for it would be pretty high depending how you treat your supra. WRX is a great overall performance car. Its quick with acceleration, its AWD, and like the supra its turbo charged. However the WRX is more geared up to be for rallying or circuit racing rather then drag. Its awd drive makes driving easy with quick handling and it is very firm to the ground. I would find that the STi would most likely be a good daily car rather then the supra because it provides more creature comfort and such. I personally love both cars and i wouldnt mind owning both. But like i said, whats your purpose of owning the car? Well good luck and have fun if you ever own one.

Q: does anyone know the top speed on a 2005 subaru impreza wrx??? (straight out the factory) no mods. done...?
im thinkin about gettin one, but i want to kno the facts 1st (remember NOT ste STI jus the impreza wrx turbocharged) mind you the WRX is turbocharged... AND so is the STI. the STI jus has more power.... so know ur facts before u post any answers

A: 210km/h 6.07sec 0-100km/h They were build more for acceleration than speed. John it was turbo charged. This link will give you all you want to know.
