Q: Should I use 10W30 or 10W40 motor oil in my 1995 Subaru Impreza?
I have a 1995 Subaru Impreza with 202000 miles on it. Should I use 10W30 or 10W40 oil? Jiffy Lube has always put 10W40 in it, but I dont take my cars to those vampires anymore.
I live in SLC, Utah
A: It really depends on where you live. The weather is a big factor. 10W40 is a thicker weight. Most common weight of oil used is 10w30. I'd look at your drivers manual to check what weight of oil to use. If you don't have one, contact your local Subaru dealer. I'd say 10w30 though.
Using a different weight wont harm your car, persay.
I work at a lube shop by the way.
Q: Does anyone know where I can get an OBD 1 code reader for my 1995 Subaru Impreza?
Apparently 1995 was a transition year for the Impreza and some were OBD 1 and some were OBD 2. If anyone has any details, please let me know.
A: autozone
Q: What kind of oil is recommended for my 1995 Subaru Impreza Outback 4-cylinder, 2.2 litre?
I want to know which weight is best, and I don't have my owners manual any more.
A: I would say something light such as 5w-30.
Q: What kind of speakers can you put in a 1995 subaru impreza?
A: Pioneer is probably the best after market speaker you can buy.
Crutchfield has a "what fit's my car" tool that will show you the exact sizing as well as speakers available in that size. They also include the accessories you need to do it right!

A: Fate is telling you to quit smoking.
Q: Does anyone know how to change a foglight bulb in a 1995 Subaru Impreza?

A: About 15 gallons
Q: Why is my 1995 Subaru Impreza hesitating when I give it gas?
It just started doing this 2 days ago, and it ONLY happens when I'm in 2nd or 5th gear. Hesitating is the best way I can think of to describe it - it starts kind of shaking or lurching for a few seconds (just like it would if I were in too high of a gear). I've had this car for years, and it has never done anything like this. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this?
A: Your choke is sticking...spray it with WD40....
if that doesnt do it....your transmission may be going out...have a mechanic look at it.
Q: 1995 Subaru Impreza battery or alternator problems?
I've had this car for a little over two years, and never replaced the battery or alternator or any other part. For a while now, it will sometimes struggle to turn over, for a couple minutes, but will always turn over. I was told that this was my battery, but I unfortunately just transferred university and don't know any honest mechanics in the area. I live in New York State, where it obviously gets very cold. On top of the car sometimes taking a while to turn over, just a couple days ago, after letting it sit and warm up for about 5 minutes, when I went to reverse out, the car just STOPPED running, although the panel lights and radio remained on. I started it again, and after going a few feet, it stopped again. The third time, it didn't shut off and made it all the way to work and has not done it since. Anyone have an idea to the problem, and if I can drive it for another couple days until I get paid to have it tested and/or fixed?
A: Start by making sure the battery connections are both clean and tight. Then go find a cheap volt meter. Open the hood, put the voltmeter on the battery. It should read at or just over 12 volts. Now while watching the meter, start the car. It should not drop below 9 volts. If it does, suspect the battery. Now with the car running, read the volts. If they are close to 14 the alternator is good, if not, it's bad.
If it is the battery, you can buy a new one at the parts store and they will probably help you or show you how to replace it.
Q: Any Problems or compliments for 1995 subaru impreza (standard)?
I am looking at buying a 1995 secondhand subaru impreze (standard) for my first car. It is in great condition for its age and regularly serviced and everything so i was jus wondering if anybody has experienced any problems that might be problems with all 1995 imprezas, or even if you've found anything impressive or that u liked about it please let me know, thank you
A: Great cars, very easy to maintain.
Watch out for rusted gas tanks, they usually end up replaced. So make sure it has or budget that in for future maintenance.
You should be able to get pretty excellent gas mileage if the engine is in tip-top shape. Verify the OEM PCV valve has been changed/cleaned along with standard tune up items.
Q: My grandma has a 1995 Subaru impreza. The gas gage stopped working then the horn and then dash lights why?

Q: colour code for 1995 subaru impreza?
where can i find the code, or if you know the code, its a 1995 subaru imprez l awd in green. also its NOT on the inside of the door frame!
A: Check under the hood on the frame.
Q: 1995 subaru impreza no reverse?
I went to drop my nephew off at daycare this morning and car would not go into reverse just revs transmission fluid is good . I recently bought the car about 4 months ago its never been serviced could anyone suggest an answer to this .(car rolls forward if on a hill and in reverse just as if its in neutral and car is an automatic)
A: the problem is dirty oil screen... jack the car up place on stands remove the trransmission pan.. you will see a filter that is hanging secured by a o ring.. replace this filter and you will have reverse.. the oil pan gasket is done a special way.. you may have to purchase a replace ment gasket from a transmission repair ok
Q: 1995 Subaru Impreza Fuel system: My Subaru ran out of gas, and after adding more fuel, it still won't start.
Is there a reset switch that has to be activated on my particular model before the car will start, or should it have just started when I added gas if nothing else was wrong with the car? If there is a reset switch, where would it be located? Would a clogged fuel filter cause the car not to start? It tries to turn over, it just won't go all the way.
Thanks
A: Does the fuel pump work? Turn on the car but not crank it and listen for the fuel pump hum. If it doesn't hum check the fuel pump fuse. Try a gas treatment like STP or GUNK you can put in the tank. try to start the car now. If everything checks out and the car still doesn't start I would get the air and fuel filters changed and check the spark plugs and wires.
