Q: 2006 Subaru forester back seat seatbelts, 2 of 3 don't work What can I expect to find out from dealer?
One belt, the middle one, doesn't extend all the way to be buckled. Maybe we're using it wrong. Outer belt on passenger side doesn't buckle. It's missing the little red piece. All the pieces connect, but no 'click'.

A: It's a safety feature and you are still under warranty so they will fix it. Just take it in.

Q: I have a 2006 Subaru Forester w/ 8,600 miles on it. It makes a?
scretching noise every time I am in reverse like backing out of a parking space. This has been happening consistently for at least 2 days. What could be the cause??? Thanks!

A: it is probably the brakes take it to midas for a free estimate or take it back to the dealer it is still under warranty

Q: Looking at a used 2006 Subaru Forester?
21,000 miles...great condition. The dealer paid 13K...they list it at 17,900...what should I offer?

A: I'd offer $17,000.

Q: Ideal Tire Pressure for 2006 Subaru Forrester?
What is the Ideal tire pressure for a standard 2006 Subaru Forester?

A: in the drivers side on the lower door jamb is a badge that has the proper tire pressures for the car. Do not go with the numbers on the tire. It is also in your owners manual. This number is for best ride and fuel economy.

Q: Brand-new car has tiny but visible rust spots. What recourse have I?
My 2006 Subaru Forester has fewer than 500 (yes, five-hundred) miles on it; I bought it new three months ago. I purchased the optional 5-year "advanced vehicle protection" -- a $400 feature that is supposed to protect the exterior and interior from cooties and stuff like that (but, apparently, not rust). Oh, and the car is always garaged. Of course I'll alert the car dealer, but what is reasonable and realistic for me to expect? I'm plenty disappointed, and I don't want that bitterness to cloud what's realistic. Please advise.

A: The problem you have is called "rail dust" and is very common, most noticeable on white or light colored vehicles---the dealer prep department should have methods of removing these little spots and are covered under new car prep or warranty. Methods we used in our prep department were clay bar removal or oxalic acid--"wood bleach" These tiny rust spots are from metal particles being thrown up in the air from train wheels on the trains used to transport new vehicles and they settle onto the cars and rust. Every car manufacturer that ships via rail knows of the problem and pays their dealer network to remove the rail dust under warranty or new car prep.....you should not have to pay for it and they should offer a rental car for a day for your inconvenience---problem should have been caught at the new car check-in prep. http://www.sherwin-automotive.com/reference/troubleshooting_guide/rail_dust/index.cfm http://www.properautocare.com/usclaybartor.html

Q: Anyone own a Subaru Forester?
I'm about to buy one new 2006 xlt for $27,800 is this a good price? I live in CT Is this a good car? pros/cons

A: Good car. A lesbian comes standard.

Q: Which car would you get?
I am going to college in Indiana and getting a car. Which of these would you get and why? A) 2008 Honda accord LX B) 2008 Subaru Impreza hatchback C) 2006 Subaru Forester, dont know the exact model but it is a limited with the tubro engine. This car is in the list because instead of its sticker price of 30k i can get it for 20k because of the dealers inability to sell the vehicle.

A: The Accord That's all that needs to be said

Q: Rav4 vs. Forester?
My husband and I are looking at Toyota Rav4 (2006) and the Subaru Forester. We are torn...both are about the same price, the forester as AWD and the Rav4 has 4WD. Any opinions on either of these models? We will be towing a boat from time to time.

A: Definately Forester, it's more classy!

Q: Subaru forester or....?
So should I go with the 08 and the special financing/money back they are offering? I'm basically at.... 2009 X vs 2008 XT (hopefully sport edition)... I wouldn't mind sacrificing my appeal towards the 2009 due to the SUV looks but I also like several other things such as the longer wheelbase, framed windows for quietness, front seats being able to fold in to a bed, wide opening doors, ect.... But wfould you guys rather have that or the 08 XT? Third option.... My boss, and long time friend, offered me his 2002 Toyota Land Cruiser for around 20K. He's not eager to sell it but kind of neutral, (i think he only offered it to me because we've known each other for a long time and he has minor benefits of selling it). It has everything that the 2009 forester has plus more (which is a given with a 65-70K car). He's kept it in great condition, his leather seats look new and alot better than my 2006 Z and there's not a scratch on it. I like the refined drive of the land cruiser and the power of the XT... I have a 350Z and am 19 so of course I like the 225 hp turbo but also figure I already have a sports car.

A: A land cruiser is a boat of a car and will cost more for gas. Insurance will be higher as well. If you are used to driving a 350Z than I would go with the Forester XT. It is still fun to drive and have plenty of room. The engine is very strong as mentioned above. It is not quite the same as an STI but very similar. If you are used to something peppy and buy something with no fun to drive factor to it, you will find you never want to drive it and be wasting money.

Q: I can no longer drive - can I lease my personal vehicle??
2006 Subaru Forester 8700 miles, auto, AWD, cloth interior in excellent condition.

A: You can, but why would you? If you can no longer drive, you're better off just selling the car. Making sure that the person you leased a vehicle to can be very troublesome at best. Who knows what will happen to the vehicle once it's out of your hand.

Q: My husband and I are looking for a car, but we're not sure what to get. Can you help us?
Here's what we need: Roomy enough for two adults, a baby, a 160 lb. dog, a stroller, and a dog ramp. NOT an SUV (nothing high up). Excellent gas mileage. Not too pricey (we're looking to buy a 2005 or 2006 model for $23K or less) We're stumped. The closest we can find is a Subaru Forester, but the gas mileage is not great. Any suggestions?

A: I highly recommend the Subaru Forester, or at least go for a test drive. I bought an 2007 Forester and couldn't be happier. I find the Forester has above average gas mileage, at least compared to my old Nissan, and should have enough room for you, your husband, the baby and the dog. I live in the Northeast where it snows/rains a lot and this car is great in all weather conditions. The hatchback area is also a lot bigger than it looks, and it has a cool roof rack if I ever decide to take some cross country trips or something LOL. The one issue you may have is if you or your husband is very tall, in which case the back seat may be a little cramped. If safety is your primary concern, which I imagine it may be considering you have a little one, the Subaru is very safe. I did lots of research before I laid down my money and the Forester had great ratings all around. I also bought mine for less than 23K.

Q: What would you much rather buy?
Which car would you mich rather buy for off roading and 4 wheel driving Nissan Navara D22 2006-2008 model Or a 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara Or a 2008 Subaru Forester And i am Not american I am australian

A: Nissan Navara.
